What is RSS
The acronym RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, is a technology that allows you to quickly see the contents of a Web site, and to reach the pages of interest with a single click. This is done by creating a so-called feed ('flow'), up to date as soon as new content becomes available.
Being so comfortable, rss technology quickly took hold among users to keep abreast of published articles on their websites and blogs favorites, and to optimize shipping time, instead of having one at a time to visit the home page of all sites. The developers of the major browsers, with the notable exception of Internet Explorer, have noted the growing success of rss and they have long been integrated into the basic functionality for this technology. They are also popular dedicated tools, the so-called feed readers or aggregators (of different sources of information), offering the ultimate in functionality. Some feed readers are free, others require payment. A middle ground is represented by plug-ins , modules to be added to a main program (such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Outlook, Thunderbird ...) to enable a more advanced management of feeds and their content, even if not equal to that of a feed reader. They offer the advantage of avoiding the user having to learn a new instrument........
